Knowing how to pre-order God of War Ragnarok just got a whole lot more important – and desirable, frankly. What with a new trailer dropping during September’s PlayStation State of Play, and now news of the game going gold as of October 7, getting your copy sorted before the game’s November 9 release date is a must for fans.
Cutting to it, in terms of options, unfortunately, we are more limited than we were God of War pre-orders opened: both the Collector’s Edition and Jotnar Editions are sold out currently – or at least extremely hard to get hold of. However, PlayStation Direct does have active listings for both, but with ‘Coming Soon’ labels…
This leaves the standard, or launch, edition on PS5 or PS4, and whatever variations on that the big retailers have got going on those too – this is still a very worthwhile pre-order as you’ll get a couple of bonuses and, importantly, get the game in your hands as soon as is possible.
Any God of War Ragnarok pre-order you place will bag you some bonus armor and in-game cosmetic pieces too, so there’s always something extra to consider when you’re committing to what’s likely to be one of the generations’ (PS4 too, remember) biggest games.
And if that wasn’t enough, you can also place a God of War Ragnarok DualSense pre-order to beautifully coincide with your game pre-order – though the availability of this controller seems to be limited to just PlayStation Direct now. Also, another quick note on Collector’s and Jotnar Editions for those in the UK – you may well have luck placing a pre-order for these options by physically going into your local Game store; the retailer’s recent communication and emails have stated that this is a possibility.
Until then, let’s get straight to your God of War Ragnarok pre-order options.
